Beware of Mr. Baker

Commune Cinema returns to House of Vans on December 5th with a special screening of Jay Bulger's 'Beware of Mr. Baker!'

Drummer for the legendary groups Cream and Blind Faith, Ginger Baker was as well known for his antics off stage as he was for his musicianship. Following in the tradition of Searching For Sugar Man; Jay Bulger's award-winning and frequently hilarious film celebrates the life of a man who lived as most others don't, and gives opportunity to commemorate a musical powerhouse recently passed, with more to come by way of tribute from the Commune team - watch this space.

Synopsis:
The world's greatest drummer, Ginger Baker looks back on his musical career with Cream and Blind Faith, his introduction to Fela Kuti, his self-destructive patterns and losses of fortune, alongside his current life inside a fortified South African compound. The documentary includes interviews with Eric Clapton, Stewart Copeland, Lars Ulrich and Baker's Cream bandmates, Eric Clapton and Jack Bruce.

The screening will be hosted in House of Vans 100-seat cinema space. A very limited number of walk-in tickets will be available on the day, on a first come, first served basis.

The event is free with booking required.
